Trust Your Intuition

(Two minutes read)

When I decided to start blogging about Seven Years Ago, I was pretty clear I wanted to open the mind of the overall Latino Men to the idea of accepting dressing up as a part of themselves. I think I accomplished that more than a few times as I used to get asked for advice from men who were willing to take risks.

I did all of this by trusting my INTUITION. I know we all have heard of this gut feeling that could determine our decision-making ability. Although there is actually a large number of nerves in the stomach that work diligently in togetherness with the brain when we get nervous or excited about a situation, it is safe to say that learning to listen to this gut feeling or intuition is actually possible.

Pairing our Intuition with critical thinking can actually help us make faster and smarter decisions.

So here are a few tips to learn to listen to your intuition and avoid mistakes:

  1. Learn to differentiate fear from intuition or gut feeling. Usually fear feels consuming and worrisome to be judged or fail, while intuition is a call of duty to protect yourself based on your values.

  2. Align a decision with the values you possess and your emotional gut. Usually, intuition is based on the core values we possess as humans: family-oriented, honesty, and kindness.

  3. Start by making small decisions. Next time you feel you have a chance to follow your intuition, such as participating in a big meeting or wearing a loud piece of clothing, can help you learn about yourself and your decision-making in relation to your intuition.

Last but not least, I will encourage you to continue to learn new things and fill up your knowledge bank to grow and be a better person. This will strengthen your values and gain trust in yourself.

Take care kiddos and trust your intuition.
